About the Artist

Angie Stinchfield was born in Helena, Montana. At the early age of 2 Angie became interested in drawing and painting all over her house. By the age of 18, it was clear to her parents that Angie was serious about Art and they enrolled her in an art school at The University of Montana where her talent was developed as she earned her B.F.A. She continued on in art education studies at Montana State University, receiving her B.A. Angie has taught several years of high school art in both Frenchtown and in Helena.

Angie was accepted to the graduate program at The University of Montana School of Fine Arts where she finished her Masters (MFA) degree with honors.  Angie’s extensive background includes work as an artist, educator, ceramicist, and photographer.

Angie taught art at the high school level for five years, before deciding to "break free" and work as a practicing artist.  With this new found freedom her art once again has flourished and she is working more feverishly than ever.

Artist Statement:

It's really pretty simple.  Art keeps me balanced.  It's been my constant companion my whole life.  It challanges me to think critically, forcing me to find multiple answers to questions.  Art helps me to communicate when words just get in the way.  I express myself while recording my reactions to the world around me.  I am blessed to have art in my life, as it truely has given me the Creative License to be INDIVIDUAL.

"Success is not the key to happiness.

Happiness is the key to success.

If you love what you are doing,

You will be successful."
